Dark Angel
So as I learn this new medium, I become like a mad scientist and conjure up ways to try new things that will help me to get better at using it. So, for a 1/2 dozen or so paintings, I painted with only black and white (and different embellishments as texture mediums), to see how far I could go with it.
I’m also learning different ways to apply it. This medium is SO flexible! Different things happen depending on the viscosity of the paint too. It gets so exciting but sometimes nerve wracking! I have to just jump into it and see what happens, then decide how I want to go.
Well, this was meant to be another wing, and suddenly it was like when Bob Ross used to say “happy little accidents”? In an instant, I sort of splash-dripped my black paint up through the center of my wing and at first it startled me, but then…. I saw it! The naked lady! So I just detailed her out to develop her a little more. Her hair flows up as if she is underwater and her wings spread open like David Lee Roth flashing his sexy chest from under a sequin robe. She just developed… almost like she painted herself with my hands. She is one of about a half dozen black and white paintings that, while I was in the last apartment, I hung together in a collage. I will post it below the video of Dark Angel.
PS: Please forgive the color discrepancies, I don’t have the natural light I could use to shoot these in this house like I did in the last, but I feel the music at least suits the mood. 🙂
