Melting Moon

You might notice that I was incorporating the Moon in several of these paintings. It’s what I refer to as “Moon Days”. I first drafted this out on Yupo watercolor paper. I’ve seen some amazing work created on Yupo but for me it’s just a monster to work with. It does however help you to loosen up and let things stay “wet”. It also helped me to create the final painting, which is this one and I managed to retain some of that same watery feeling.

I was feeling very much like the daughter of a redheaded mother when this painting poured out, perhaps even a red head myself at the time.
