Talking to the Moon
Watercolor Painting Arches 140lb Cold Press 22 x 30
Most of my paintings are conceptual. I hesitate to describe what was transpiring in my life or what I was thinking about when I develop a composition for a painting. I prefer instead to allow a viewer to read into it what they will and what if anything, it might mean to them.
This painting was made during a very solitary time in my life. It’s dark, moody, somewhat of a storm. The female is not as detailed or accurate as I would have preferred, but in the painting itself, she is very small and it’s quite difficult to apply a lot of detail to very small things, using watercolor, especially trying to preserve the whites. I’ve gotten much better at doing so though, since I painted this.
